'Tales of Symphonia' fans rejoice! The series is set to make its way to the next-gen console 'Wii', via Namco Bandai's new title named Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk. The original Tales of Symphonia is one of the best selling RPGs for the Gamecube, and Namco is expecting the same from new iteration as well.

Apart from this, the developer has another title in the pipeline dubbed Tales of Symphonia: Innocence for Nintendo's portable platform, DS.
As per speculations, the next-gen game, however, is likely to be a spin-off (sort of) that carries forward storyline of the GameCube RPG, while the handheld title is believed to be entirely a new game.
As, we don't have any precise information about what the next-gen title would extract back from the original game, or which/how many new characters would be featured in the DS version, the titles will be seeing some significant changes for sure, e.g. improved Wii-mote motion-sensing controls and some essential patches to get all the glitches (in the prequel) fixed.

Both the games have been confirmed for Japanese market (no confirmation about the US versions); the Wii version has been set for spring 2008 release, whereas the handheld game will make its debut this year only.
