In the backdrop of growing child obesity rates in the US, a new game has been launched, which teaches the kids about healthy eating and exercise. The new video makes your kids movable rather than keep them in front of computers for hours.
The game named as “The Incredible Adventures of the Amazing Food Detective”, includes printable scavenger hunts that teach kids to make sense of food labels, experiments that show kids how to measure sugar in drinks, healthy recipes, muscle-building exercises and family activities to promote better eating. The video includes a function, which stops players to play the game after every 20 minutes and would allow them to play it after another 60 minutes.

The new game is an initiative on the part of Kaiser’s campaign to combat childhood obesity. Around 20 percent of children in the United States are presently obese. Obesity is related to shorter life-expectancy and more health expenditure.
From the last six years, Kaiser has partnered with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control in developing an anti-obesity strategy. Kaiser’s game is also available in English and Spanish versions at AmazingFoodDetective and through the CDC’s site at CDC with costing any fee. Kaiser and publisher Scholastic Inc will also distribute teacher lesson plans and parent guides to more than 5,000 public schools nationwide.
