Nintendo does not own the wii.com domain name. This name was bought in by Willamette Industries of Portland, Oregon in 1994 and they use it only to link to its Weyerhaeuser.com website.



Go Nintendo now has published a whole lot of registered Nintendo Wii domains that will redirect a surfer/gamer to the homepage of Nintendo.com. Well, we are not sure whether they will be using all of those domain names fully or not, however, they will surely redirect each one to the Nintendo site. You might be wondering why they have registered all the names, some of which look distantly connected to the gaming world, like cooking, management, parents love, well, your guess is as good as mine. We are also clue less. May be they don’t want to take any risk and don’t one any smart webmaster to take advantage of the ‘Wii’ name illegally.



Nintendo has not yet approached the firm with an offer to buy the wii.com domain name.
