Nintendo puts responsible their Touch Generation titles for this huge figure that made massive reach to the major number of individuals, i.e. female and older gamers. Brain Age, Trauma Center, Big Brain Academy and Cooking Mama are the title that brought Nintendo to this platform.
The stats presented by NPD Group of Port Washington, N.Y revealed that DS has shown 11% of revenue growth as compared to last year. If we remove the contribution of Nintendo then net growth of whole industry is just 1.6% for last nine months. The individual growth rate of Nintendo is huge 203%. Oh my Goodnesssssss!!
Still there is much more for Nintendo to achieve like to grow up the DS hardware no. from 17 million to 20 million units worldwide and DS software shipments from 75 million to 82 million units. The major contribution to these terrible figures is new Nintendo DS Lite systems that have been sold more than 1.4 million units within just 16 weeks.
