Nintendo Rev to have original content

Nintendo President Satoru IwataAfter Nintendo President Satoru Iwata's keynote address at the ongoing Game Developers Conference 2006, Nintendo issued a press release supplementing Iwata's speech. It carried an elaboration on one of Iwata's vague comments.

The press release says;

New forms of innovative software that can be created by any size developer will be made available for download via Revolution's Virtual Console service.

This eloborated Iwata's comment during his keynote speech, where he said,

...future Zeldas, Marios and Metroids will be bigger masterpieces than ever before - but this doesn't have to be the only business model. Virtual Console is the videogames version of iTunes Music Store. Others will offer such a service, but it won't be the same... the digital download process will bring new games to the widest possible audience of new players.

The Revolution, it seems, is bringing in a real revolution on how certain things had been done till now. This is certainly a big news indeed.
