Nintendo tops the sales chart for August

Hey guys if its game consoles its still Nintendo, its still leading the race by beating the arch rival big shots like Sony and Microsoft. According to NPD numbers for US sales for august Nintendo tops the chart by selling 403,600 game consoles whereas Microsoft Xbox stands at number two with 276,700 and the giant Sony is bubbling under at the third spot with 130,600 sales in the month of august.

Nintendo is also among the favorites of next generation gamers. Yes, they have sold 9 million Nintendo Wiis, beating Microsoft 360 which is also not doing bad at 8.9 million sales, and gamers if we talk about Sony Playstation 3 they have sold only 3.9 total units in its lifetime. All you game boys out there if this is not enough Nintendo also have four games out of the top 10 in there bag viz. Wii Play at number five, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption at number six, Mario Strikers: Charged at the number seven spot, and Mario Party 8 in ninth place.

Microsoft is kicking good with there No.1 selling game Madden NFL 2008 for the Xbox with 896,6000 units sold. Microsoft is also preparing to launch Halo 3, which will surely bring attention to Xbox. This is the first time folks that Sony didn't do that well with the Madden games.

There's so much bad going on for Sony this month but Playstation 2 is still holding good at 202,000 units in the month of August and, Sony PSP didn't do that bad either at 151,200 units, and this can increase as the new slim PSP's are in the pipeline.
