Yashpal SharmaMay 24 2007

A low-time for the PS3 owners (especially for those who scored one in the anticipation of getting their hands on Final Fantasy XIII) because we won’t be able to see Final Fantasy XIII, this year, instead I must say by till the end of this fiscal year. Proclaiming its sales and operating profits at financial briefing, Square-Enix's CEO, Yoichi Wada vaingloriously said that one of the biggest anticipated titles for the Japanese fanboys, won’t be out this year.

Yoichi Wada:

It will still take a bit more time. At the very least, [a release] this fiscal year is definitely out of the question.

This fiscal year mean; we have to wait until next April or May to get our hands on new FF sequel because the company’s fiscal year ends on March 31, 2008. IGN also presumes May 2008 release of FF XIII.

Whether, the title has been delayed due to any development issues or not is unknown, but the demo (at least) should be on time (by end of this year).

Moreover, the company CEO said that the company has filed annual sales of ¥163.5 billion ($1 billion), i.e. 31% increase as compared to last year.
