I guess the gods of gaming are not all that pleased with us mortals for some odd reason this year because after the numerous update and launch delays in the gaming world, including the Xbox 360 Spring Update, we’ve got the launch of Konami’s Metal Gear Online Beta moved ahead to a yet announced date as well. The firm blamed the ‘extraordinary levels of traffic from all around the globe’ for the reason why their servers could only allow gamers in Japan to enjoy the delicious MGO Beta for the time being. So until the prejudiced servers of the company can stabilize themselves, the US public beta test would have to be kept on hold and another announcement about the launch will be made on 22/4/2008 23:00(PDT). However, Konami do offer us the consolation of moving the test closure ahead to 11/05/2008 at 24:00(PDT) rather than 06/05/2008 at 24:00(PDT) which means that in case the test start is delayed again for some ungodly reason, we would still have time to fly down to Japan for a weekend, soak in all the pleasure of the MGO Beta we can for 48 hours straight, and be back by the time testing opens for players back home! Now that’s what I call a back-up plan!
