A gaming-market-analyst has rightly said that for a complete dispersion, a console takes at least three-four years in the market. Many instances can be seen like Xbox360 of Microsoft and Sony's PS1 console that did a quite inadequate business for early days but with the passage of time they came out to be the foremost products for the developers as Xbox 360 has raised the revenue for Microsoft to a large extent with slightly healing up company's total loss. Coincidence is here with Sony's PS2 console that has sold out 40 million units throughout Europe and the PAL territories until now since the day of its debut in 2000. Six years and such a gigantic outcome is incredible.

The figures are important for Sony because this is the first console for Sony to touch the 40 million mark within six years. Even PS1 could procure just 33 million in last six years. David Reeves, SCEE President and CEO say that they feel extremely vainglorious with PS2's success and excellent show in the PAL countries (100, 000 units sold per week) is responsible for the great achievement.
PS2 has still a lot to accomplish with its over 2000 enclosed titles and 50 upcoming titles for this fall season.
