Pandemic Studios, producers of hit video games like Star Wars Battlefront, Mercenaries, Destroy All Humans, announced recently that their much-anticipated stealth-action thriller ‘Saboteur‘ will be launched on next generation consoles in 2008. This new game, which is based on a true life story, has its moorings in Nazi-occupied France where a courageous man is all set to take revenge against those Nazis who killed his friends. The game’s open-world environment combined with the stealth-action gameplay will go very well with the next generation consoles.

The game’s producer Phil Hong had this to say:
While one of the great conflicts of human history is being played out all around us, ultimately we’re not really concerned with winning the war because we know how that turns out. We’re interested in telling the story of one man’s personal battle.
The horrors of Nazi Germany or Third Reich are all there for players to experience in this extremely interactive game. You get to make cat-like movements with unparalleled competency and also use weapons, costumes and vehicles to your advantage. You get to scale buildings in ‘Spiderman style’ and indulge in bare-handed fights (Oops!) the WWF way.
A striking feature of the game will be the ‘Will to Fight’ Areas. These are sensitive areas where Nazis are all eyes for any suspicious movements by the player and are black and white in appearance. The black and white areas will change to very colourful hues if the player emerges victorious.
You can catch glimpses of the game at the Saboteur site.
So till 2008, au revoir!
