parental-controls_52ESRB does its job flawlessly with giving appropriate ratings to the various video games but the question of preventing the teen gamers from playing M and R-rated games still exists there. The parents themselves complain that they aren’t able to their children from playing M-rated games and if they bar them from playing violent video games they would certainly adopt unfair means to get their hands on video games. The whole video game industry found itself in hot water as some of the developers (Microsoft) initiated their HD download services like HD movies and shows.

So taking the subject matter into account the video game developers have found a solution for the problem called Parental Controls. The initiative is a collective effort of all the gaming console developers (Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo) to get rid of such dilemma. The content filtering software is available on all the gaming consoles like Xbox360, Wii, PS3 and PSP.

In Sony’s PS3 console for triggering the system you require to go to Settings, after that access to Security Settings, Parental Control and (games)and for un-sophisticated access, choose password with four zeroes: “0000″.

Parental locks for the different portions of the console can be accessed by going to Settings, followed by Security Settings (movies), Parental Control (games), or Internet Browser Start Control (web browser). If you haven’t messed with the password of the PS3, then your default password should be four zeroes: “0000″.

Additionally you can enable various levels of parental locks for movies and games. For the web browser, it’s just an “on” and “off” switch. Just remember to change the password in case they know the “0000″ code.

Similar steps are included in case of other consoles like Xbox360, Wii and PSP.
