Remember how we went gaga about three weeks back. Then the occasion was a new trailer for Plants vs. Zombies. Today the occasion demands almost as crazy a reaction. Plants vs. Zombies comes out in just about fourteen days (on May 5 to be precise) and Steam has come out with a pre-order offer that’s a steal. (If you are as intrigued by the title as we are anyway!) Steam is putting the game for pre-order at $9.99, and if that’s not crazy enough, it is bundling along another title, absolutely free. To repeat, for $9.99 you get a copy of Plants vs. Zombies on May 6 and a copy of Heavy Weapon Deluxe for no additional charges. The two inferences that can be drawn are: one, PopCap is pricing the title low, despite all the hype and expectations; and two, we’re getting an obvious bargain. Heavy Weapon Deluxe, by the way, is a side-scrolling shoot-em-up that bring arcade fun to a Windows-based gamer. A win-win, if ever there was one!
