PlayLimit: The gadget gaming kids would love to hate

Now, if you are one of those kids who are thinking that this Christmas you would be gaming away to glory and your parents can't do much about it, then think twice for they might have just found out a way to thwart your holiday gaming ambitions. PlayLimit is just the kind of device your parents would have reason to believe that their prayers have been answered.

Worrisome, right? Well, read along what this evil gadget is capable of doing:

This PlayLimit gadget is created with the sole purpose of making game crazy kids mad while giving parents some kind of a sadistic pleasure. Actually, this is an innovative timer device that connects between the TV and the console player like Xbox 360. what's more, this can also be connected even to a VCR or DVD player to limit your movie watching as well!

With this device in place, the kids must earn 'tokens' for being good kids that they have to insert to get access time to the TV. Don't worry while playing though. When your time starts running out, the timer will warn you in the video that your seconds are numbered in that particular second enabling you to save your game before it cuts you down. What happens is; when your time runs out, the Out of Time message blocks the TV screen thus preventing you from viewing anything but the message.

PlayLimit system has 40 tokens where one token allows 15 minutes of game playing or TV viewing.

Anyway, there is good news for those who play games or watch movies in HDTV. This works only with composite video, so your dad may even have to downgrade the video quality if you are already playing XBox 360 in HDTV. He will be frustrated!

Anyway, I am sure it wouldn't take much time for someone to find a way out of this too. No barrier can stand forever, isn't it?

Thanks Tom Keating
