playstation 3
Sony has been known for its innovative and miniature products and Playstation 3 is no different. Playstation 3 is not only about its sleeker design, but it also boasts of a few revisions to its architecture. First and foremost, the hard disk is much smaller and lighter in weight. The company also proposes to stick in the 65 nm version of the cell into the 40GB Playstation 3. This chip is said to have been developed by IBM and is thought to be a cool device due to its size. The 65 nm version of the cell microprocessor consumes less power and will be available at a lower cost to the manufacturer. Sony, one of the prime buyers of IBM products has chipped in with plans to incorporate the 65nm chip into its new Playstation 3. As a result of this addition, the console will consume about 60 watts less power. This reduced power consumption means that the chances of heating will be less and the Playstation 3 will be a quieter device.

Sony also made some other changes to the console’s architecture by shortening the heat pipe and adding a battery cell to keep time when the system is switched off. A host of good features like this may make the buyer rush to stores to pick up the new 40GB Playstation 3.
