PopCap confirms Peggle with multiplayer for XBLA

Peggle has been an amazingly simple yet very addictive game on PC. It has been feted for precisely this reason. Soon enough Peggle – along with its orange orbs and shooting balls – will make way over to Xbox Live Arcade. Greg Canessa, VP of the Video Game Platform Group, PopCap Games, in an interview with Uncle Gamer Radio divulged several details about Peggle and said that the game will be on XBLA very soon. Among other things revealed were the multiplayer capabilities of Peggle. The Xbox version will have support for two players in an Arena mode and for four players in a Competitive mode. The latter would be playable locally or over Xbox Live. As regards the actual release of the title, web has conflicting reports. The game could be out anytime between late 2008 to early 2009. And whenever it chooses to come out, Peggle will cost gamers 800 Microsoft Points. That’s ($10) is nearly half the original price ($19.95) of the original PC-release.
