Pre-teen girls: Potential but yet unexplored gaming market

There are opportunities unbundled but has not been tapped right. Pre-teen girls, as Buena Vista's Carly Byron reports is one of the biggest probable segments marketers are missing out. Various research results point out that female gamers consist of approximately 30 per cent of the market in Britain. After British males this demography spends more money than any other Western Europeans. And astonishingly, less than one percent of game titles in last year belong to the category. The writer asks quite candidly why everyone is busy getting a pie of 15-25 age group male gamer. Even after the 1997 Barbie fashion storm most publishers are not really charged up to cater to the segment, 6-12 years old, who have lots of free time with them, who play a lot and have disposable income which won't be less than billion dollars.
