Prince Of Persia goes online this Wednesday

It’s long back when we stopped updating our blog with new releases on Xbox Live Arcade (same with Nintendo’s new VC arrivals, every Monday), but here is something that made me betray myself and I had to immediately get my hands on the keyboard to report that Ubisoft is bringing its platform genre Prince Of Persia to Xbox Live Arcade.

The game is coming to Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, on June 13th, 2007 that you will be able to download from Microsoft’s online services onto your Xbox360 console for 800 MS Points (US$10.00).

I am in ambiguity whether or not to call it an official declaration, because the game publisher, Ubisoft has announced the title for Xbox Live via Press Release, but Microsoft is presently closemouthed. Anyway, if Ubi has announced it is in PR, then it must be taken as official.

Through PR, Ubisoft communicates that the it will be releasing Prince Of Persia Classic on Xbox Live Arcade, this summer. “Xbox Live Arcade on the Xbox360 is the premier destination for digitally distributed, high definition original and classic games. A remake of the 1989 Prince of Persia game that was lauded as THE game that started the platforming genre features the same intricate level design, exciting swordplay, puzzle solving, and storyline from the original”, says Ubisoft.

The Xbox version of the game has received an updation with some futuristic changes in character design, animation, visuals, etc, with some newly added traps, puzzles and enemies to make game more episodic.

However, no official announcement has been made on the part of Microsoft, we’d have to wait until this Wednesday, and see whether Ubisoft’s announcement carries any authenticity or not!
