Radical Entertainment’s alluring offering Prototype has been given an official release date. The open-world action game will be available with European retailers on June 5 and with their North American counterparts on June 9. So much has been confirmed by publisher Activison. The game will be available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers. For the uninitiated: Prototype recounts the story of Alex Mercer – a man devoid of any memory, but possessor of shape shifting abilities – and his quest to unravel his past. Shape shifting is just one of Alex’s superpowers, and he’s endowed with 750 “unique combinations” of various powers. He has to wade through New York City, which has been invaded by the “Infected.” Parkour, open-world, zombies, and laboratory intrigue: Prototype seems to strike just the right gameplay cords. Radical has already delivered a massive open-world title: The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, and is expected to repeat the good work. Can’t wait to get hands on this one!
