A recent investigation into the much-hyped Cell Processor of PS 3 has revealed the poor performance of the former. All the tall claims about speed, teraflops and graphics fell flat as the drop of dye on the bad chips showed that the yield was bad.

As per facts available with The Inquirer, the chip created by Sony was hyped for premium technological applications and now as the yield is revealed, Sony is working between tight deadlines to buck-up the yield.
Well, it would be better for Sony to do so before the E3 line-up, least the assumptions made earlier regarding the capacity of cell might come true and give room to the Xbox 360 to rule.
