A PR crew of GameSpot with Ryan Bowling performed an audition work with new PS3. The compatibility of new hardware was tested out with few decade early PS and PS2 titles. The team chose two titles named Gran Turismo 4 and Battle Arena Toshinden 3 to check the backward compatibility of the console. PlayStation 3 was hooked-up with 1080p HDTV and the whole investigation work ended with a tremendous yield.

Upon inserting a PS2 game disc, the PS3 identifies it as a PS2 Format Disc that runs with great precision. However the was not able to amplify the visual quality but a cooperation was seen between GT4 and HDTV display. The same was experienced with Arena Toshinden 3. The analysis also revealed that the new console can play PS3 games from any region, but the system obeys the region restriction from decade older titles.
