Sony PS3 has received another firmware update, making it v1.70 update. It’s just few weeks back when PS3 received a firmware update v1.60, and now another update is at the doorsteps, ready for download from Sony’s PlayStation Store.
With the latest update, Sony has brought back the vibration function to PS3 that can be used for PS1 and PS2 software. The new update is alleged to be just old games compatible. Here is a detail explaining the new update:
• You can now download PlayStation format software from the PlayStation Store and play it on PS3.
• You can use saved data for PlayStation format software on the PSP system.
• You can now use the vibration function of accessories that are for use with PlayStation or PlayStation 2 format software.
After having a quick look over the new update subjected to the PS3, I found that you would be able to download some PS-Classics goodness that you can play on the PS3 with some old school vibration. Furthermore, the new update boycott the use of PSP so as to play the PSone games on your PS3 i.e. without any PSP hook-up, you can also play PSP games on their PS3.
