PS3 Price-hack: Not yet!

Sony doesn't seem able to overcome the space between loss and profit as Sony has filed a loss of 5% to 160 billion to its total profit for last quarter ending in December and loss seems to take a notch to 200 billion by March, 2007.

This is obvious that a slow PS3 sale is the straightforward reason for the Sony's profit fall. Another ridiculing thing associated with Sony's PS3 is price cut that Sony officials say is under consideration. Talking on the price cut issue

Senior VP Takao Yuhara commenting on price hack issue says:

We may look at the price as part of our strategy to expand the market when the timing is right.

The aforementioned statement clearly shows that the Sony is planning to lower the price of SP3 consoles but not yet that seems to be very logical reply to those who are asking for the PS3 price hack.

Though, the PS3 the console that contains quite expensive interior like Blu-ray that adds another penny to its cost and moreover, the console has been launched just two and half month ago and to expect a cut back in price of console seems quite absurd. However, Sony has already offered a cut down in price of PS3 by 20% even before it went on sale in Japan.

If in any case Sony had offered a further slash in price of PS3 then it would have been certainly proved as an economic dearth to Sony. To offer a global price cut on PS3, Sony would have to wait for at least one year or two as PS3 is the console that offers quite appreciable flexibility in cost reduction.
