In my last post, I discussed about PS3 power consumption that is a major issue after cost reduction issue. The PS3 console eats up greater power as compared to its closest rival Xbvxo360. A very keen and praiseworthy workout with PS3's power consumption aptitude by TurnRound Ltd over sourcewire.com brings some eye opening facts about Sony's next-gen console PS3. (Title of the post quite misleading)

The study shows that the US version of the PS3 comes with a whopping 380W power supply that is approximately twice to its rival Xbox360 that needs just 165W. The comparison with its own family, the analyzer found the PS3 seven times more power hungry than its predecessor PS2, and if we plug in PS3 with a LG 71" HD Ready Plasma TV for some HD glimpses, you burn 1.4kW of electricity per hour. If unlucky you are a grave PS43 fanboy and spend hours playing games on PS3, then you trash £1.19 in a long gaming session of five hours.
So as if it is a high power consuming console, it is obvious that it would spit high heat as well.
Anyhow, the stats for Wii as well are not very pleasing when it is in standby mode (it consumes greatest energy during its standby mode).
