Sony has confirmed that it will soon launch a new PS3 special service which will allow users to download video and TV shows on their consoles. Peter Dille, senior vice president, marketing and PlayStation Network in the US, says that the new update will ‘break through the overwhelming clutter of digital media’. His post on the company blog reads,
Many of you have been hearing rumblings about a video service that will allow you to download full-length TV shows and movies via PLAYSTATION Network for North America… ultimately the goal of the PLAYSTATION Network service will be to break through the overwhelming clutter.
With BBC confirming their own plans to bring video on demand to the iPlayer service to the PS3 in the UK, it can only bode well for all PS3 loyalists in the days to come.
