Here comes one of the biggest announcements of this year’s QuakeCon, Rage - a new FPS from id Software (team behind 90’s shooting games ‘Doom’, and Quake III). Using powerful cross-platform idTech5 engine, the game will be coming to the next-gen platforms i.e. PS3 and Xbox360 (not for Wii). During his keynote presentation, id’s John Carmack hinted at their ongoing multiplatform run-and-gun shooter title.
Providing some initial details, the official also veiled off first expanded trailer of the game that shows some earthly vehicular catastrophes and badly deformed men in combat all around. However, the game is not purely an FPS; a racing thrill on desert tracks has also been inflicted.
Rage places you in the shoes of Forgotten Man, a Road Warrior, who is loaded with futuristic weaponry like pistols having long barrels, for gunning down vicious evils. Your responsibility is to defend villages from growing threats of mutants and monsters. Being a partial racing simulation, you will be able to upgrade/customize your vehicle and explore the world with the help of a 20-hour single and co-op player campaign.

However, new game matches STALKER in some sense, but with an emphasis on ‘upgradeable vehicles’ makes it outshine former.
Rating and launch date has not yet been announced, hope would be revealed soon. (Trailer here)
