Red Faction is making some drastic changes. First of all it is making a shift in genre: going from an out and out first-person shooter to a third-person action game with an open environment. And second, it is switching over to the new consoles. Red Faction: Guerrilla will be hitting Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on June 9 (June 12 in Europe). Volition has also confirmed that a downloadable demo is in the offing on April 23. It is believed that like the previous two episodes of the franchise Red Faction: Guerrilla will also focus on destructible environments. This will be a lot more fun with the latest Geo-Mod 2.0 graphic engine being deployed. The game takes place some fifty years after the previous installment and focuses on a miner named Alec Mason. And since we are on the topic, you might want to head to GameStop cause a preorder would advance the demo date by three weeks.
