Though most of us take playing video games and arcade games for granted, most disabled people can’t use the existing kinds of arcade titles. Retro Remakes ‘A Game for Helen’ is a competition which is happening on the September 1, where developers will compete with each other to win a prize for the best designed arcade title for disabled people. The competition is dedicated kids and young adults in the hospices Helen and Douglas House. The developers are expected to create accessible games, which could be inspired from vintage, existing or imaginary arcade games. Mechanical, electro-mechanical and video games are allowed to be nominated. It would be interesting to see which games get modified or which new games arrive to entertain the disabled who find it difficult to use the normal controllers due to motion disabilities.
