Heavy metal will have a new voice if things go as planned for Double Fine’s venture Brütal Legend. The game goes live in September and things look right on track if the latest screenshots are any indication. EA hasn’t named any names but we all can venture guesses as to who we recognize in these images. After GDC’s disappointing announcement that there was “no chance” of a guitar controller, these screens are just the respite we needed. A muscled up Jack Black (or as he’s known within the game Eddie Riggs) is enough for us to stand up and take notice. As far as the game is concerned, Brütal Legend is a third person action game. The environment is a cross between Norse Mythology and rock music. Eddie Riggs is called upon to rescue humanity from the slavery that some demons have inflicted. More screenshots follow after jump. These are the PS3/360 ones and not the rumored Wii version.
