Saw is too gory for me, but others relish it and follow it like bloodhounds (pun unintentional). The jigsaw puzzle gets a new installment this year with Saw VI and the movie will receive an accompanying video game (as is the custom these days). Konami has secured the project that’s being developed by the Zombie Studios. The project was in jeopardy ever since former publisher Brash crashed and burned last year. Konami is planning to release the game this fall and has released some screens to show us that the work is indeed in progress. The game is supposed to be launched on PC, PS3 and 360. It follows the player as he’s trapped in an asylum rife with devious traps. Players must try to exercise their brains and solve these traps else they must face the music of one Mr. Jigsaw. Since Konami’s forte is horror genre we can expect a lot from this title as well. If it gets any close to Saw’s onscreen prowess we have a legend in the making, much in the line of Silent Hill. The two survival horror titles are in a sense complementary. Silent Hill’s psychological scares are to be pitted against the visually intense Saw. Konami’s US Marketing head David Daniels describes Saw as “graphic, intense horror that overwhelms you.” Fans would expect no less I’m sure. Jump for a couple of more screenshots.
