Not that anybody needed much welcoming to lay their paws on the most awaited game of the season, but I guess Sony Japan decided to honor the traditional Japanese humility when they announced these limited edition special packs to aid the MGS fans’ quest in discovering their very own selves within the fictional realms of the hottest game of the year! Appropriately named “Welcome Box”, the bundle will be made available in Clear Black, Ceramic White and Satin Silver hues and will contain a 40GB console, the sexy DualShock 3, a copy of the game itself and a Sixaxis Wireless Controller. The bundle will sell for ¥49,800 (roughly $470) and will be released in Japan on June 12, the same date as the worldwide release of MGS4. I don’t know what you feel about this whole thing but to me it just seems like a clever ploy from Sony to mint some money out of whatever Sixaxis Wireless Controllers they still had leftover in their warehouses, and I wouldn’t really be surprised if many of them ended up with a short circuit or something.
