Gaming scene isn’t really big in India and hence not many consoles are available in the country. However, all that might change as Sony is planning to use Indian talent for games development. However, cheap labor might be the reason more than anything else. Now, Indian gaming scene is limited to mobile phones and other unmentionable devices which are not only outdated but have terrible games. The only choice for a gamer in India is to buy pirated cds. Hence, Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) is planning to not only outsource the development but also create a market in India. Moreover, cheap manufacturing costs may mean lower prices for the end user. So nobody has anything to lose with a plan like this.
