Sony has finally aired some footage of their new online networks called Playstation Home and Life with Playstation Services. Basically these two services will be linked to the ‘Brave New World’ which is supposed to handle movie/video streaming. From what I gather, the PS Home is a virtual world in which users could interact and play games, go to the clubs, bowling alleys and much more. You can also customize your characters. The video demonstrated a link and usage of the PSP.
As for the Life with PS Services, they may basically be like the Nintendo Wii news and weather reporting system. Personally, I don’t see the need for the news, since most gamers have a computer, but the virtual world idea does seem interesting. I have played in virtual worlds before (such as vSide) and found it fun just to walk around and party, shop and mingle with people.
