The video-gamers all over the world are keen to get their hands on the long anticipated new title of Sony, i.e. PS3, this fall season. But all the Sony fanboys will have undergo little annoyance because Sony has said that it will not be able to achieve the target of required number of the consoles for this year’s launch. The officials said that they will have to bear the shortage of consoles for 2006 and in the first few months of 2007. The company blames Blu-ray for the blunder.
Due to the limited supply of Blu-ray components, Sony has to acknowledge huge shortage of systems. That would be a severe set-back to the Sony’s next-gen title. Already, Sony is facing the hindrance of higher cost for the consoles as compared to the Wii and Xbox.
A lot of obstructions are in the way of Sony connecting its PS3 next month launch in US and Japan. The analysts forecast that it will put a considerable effect on the sale of PS3. But to utter about the sales-aspect of the console would be little hasty because the ultimate results will float to the surface by the next year or latter.
