Recently Paid Content has revealed that in coming months Sony is planning to close Sony Connect music and video stores. Working of Connect is quite similar to iTunes. It let the users download video and music from Sony media players and to PSP. It has been decided to phase out 20 jobs during closure. All these changes are being done after Sony’s decision of focusing on the remaining 80 employees of Connect to the playstation brand. But, during the entire process of transformation ebooks division will remain intact.

Plans of releasing music and video may also foreshadow to both PS3 and PSP. But, this step would surely be favorable to Sony as it would effectively compete against the Xbox Live Video Store. HD programming and music are the major highlights of Xbox Live Video Store. But, big question arises regarding the already purchased DRM tracks and working of SonicStage software, as no official announcements is made by Sony.
