Amid the growing excitement over the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo, Sony has announced that on Nov. 17, the Playstation 3 will be hitting the United Stores shelves. The release time has been decided keeping in mind the busy holiday shopping season.

The PS3 will be sold with a built-in hard drive. Customers have two choices here, either they go for a 60-gigabyte version for $599 or may settle for a 20-gigabyte version that costs $499.
In the press conference that was held at Sony Picture Studios, the Japanese electronic giant unveiled their biggest surprise: a controller that is all set to compete with Nintendo's Wii.
