sonyps3_52SCE has announced that it has plans to produce a new version of PS3 with a larger hard drive.

I had smelt the rat beforehand when Sony responded to the rumor suggesting 80GB version of PS3. Sony officials however, denied any such proposal that time but I knew there was something alike in its thoughts and finally got it into work.

Here is what Sony’s Spokespersons responded to 80GB PS3 rumor:

The 80GB we’re not making any comment on, but we don’t have any plans at the moment.

I think Sony has decided to bring the higher version of PS3 as the result of discontinuation of 20GB version of PS3 by few retailers, across North America.

One of Sony’s spokesperson has said that they have planned higher PS3 to fulfill consumer demands.

Whether it will be 80GB or 120GB is presently vague but would be a perfect counterattack against Microsoft’s Xbox360 Elite that Microsoft is brining to the retailer stores on April 29th. It would be high mistake to say the PS3 with larger HDD will be a greatest failure because (in my opinion) Sony is trying to create a room for 6oGB PS3 price hack so that it could allot an adequate price to the PS3 with higher HDD.

The next-gen war is getting more and sturdy; let’s see who out of both succeeds in gaining the ground in higher-version feud.
