Sony renders from its mainstream goal of shipping consoles, worldwide. Days before, Sonny shipped 1M PS3 units to the North US. Sony had set 2M shipment target to the region but could afford just half of the target.

Now Sony has shipped 1M units to its homeland. As told early, Sony has promised 6M units across the globe, by March 2007. But it looks like Sony is lagging far behind from the proclaimed target as Sony has shipped just 2M units across the world and 4M units are the required no. to fulfill the target.
Analysts doubt that there are lots of consoles lying on the store shelves while Wii consoles are still showing pretty nice transaction. The survey shows that newly landed Wii stock was immediately whipped away while PS3s can still be seen on the store shelves.
The poor retailing of PS3 is definitely helping two other consoles in the market, particularly Xbox360 as PS3 is the only rival of Xbox360 that competes with Xbox360 at HD graphics issue. However, PS3's price thing is a bit hostile but the costly consonants implanted inside the console makes it cost little high than other two. But as described previously, PS3 and Xbox360 are the consoles that contain the maximum cost reduction capability.
