Remember Space Invaders? Even if you don’t remember the original one – released way back in 1978 – chances are, you’d have come across at least one of the iterations since then. Now courtesy Taito Corp. the arcade classic has made it to the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch. The action shooter game will be pitting your space ship against an army of aliens, asking you to accumulate points all the while. As an upgradation for the iPhone, the game has been enhanced with touchscreen controls and motion sensing. Of course several of the original tricks, including the “Nagoya Attack”, have been retained.

Apart from delivering the classic, Taito is also bringing the cookery simulation game “Cooking Mama” to the mobile platform. The objective in this award-wining title is to prepare a gourmet meal. The player is called upon to do everything from chopping to frying the ingredients. Again the touch capabilities would be called into action with Cooking Mama using multi-touch accelerometer. Cooking Mama is available at the App store for $6.99 and Space Invaders is being sold for $4.99.
