Wow! One more new game from the house of Walt Disney. Disney Interactive Studios’ much awaited video game, Spectrobes, was recently launched at Disneyland’s Tomorrowland. Jason Dolley, star of Disney Channel show
‘Cory in the House‘ and Kentaro Hisai, one of the Studio’s producers graced the occasion. Hisai was there to answer all the questions about the game. Also present were 60 fourth graders from nearby Gauer Elementary School. All the kids and guests got a feel of the completed version of the game.
This fascinating game, which sets your adrenaline flowing, has been developed and engineered for the Nintendo DS platform. It takes you on an intergalactic journey (ZOOOOM!!!) where your heroes are Rallen and Jeena, two junior Planetary Patrol officers. The duo has to save the galaxy by collecting prehistoric creatures called Spectrobes and then awaken and train them. The Spectrobes are vital to the galaxy, because it is only with their help that deadly enemies of the galaxy, the Krawl, can be eliminated.
Those present got to play the game with the video about the story origin playing in the background. At the end of it all, each of the schoolchildren received a free copy of Spectrobes, courtesy the Disney Interactive Studios. The lucky kids also got a free Nintendo DS.
Developed at Jupiter Corporation (Kyoto, Japan), the game features a touch screen and microphone and a code input card system, local wireless gameplay, Nintendo Wi-Fi downloadable content and a compatible online community. There is a stylus and there are voice commands to excavate and awaken dormant creatures. Included also is a pack of four trading cards each of which has a code. The code is available by placing the card over the touch screen and tapping numeric holes to unlock special items.
Spectrobes is expected to be available worldwide on March 13, 2007. GET SET GO!!! So let us all get ready to go the galaxy next month. With an E (meaning for Everyone) rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), the game is expected to be available for $29.99.
