stalin

“…the perfect choice for anyone who just hates the strategy genre,” is how Stalin vs. Martians has been described. Reverse Psychology perhaps? Whatever be the case, Mezmer has finally (as in nearly a year after the original revelation) dated Stalin vs. Martians. The freaky PC strategy game is all set to blow your devious minds on 20th of April. Stalin vs. Martians is the fruit of an unusual collaboration between three collaborators (no less) – BWF, Dreamlore and N-Game. The game is about Russian forces taking on evil aliens. Or maybe it is evil Russian forces taking on aliens. Yeah, latter sounds much better. Jokes aside, the game is being dubbed as an action-RTS, so I expect some shooting. Colorful, imaginative and fast-paced, the title has all ingredients to succeed (including a 30-foot-tall Stalin, and some Russian guitar pop), its bizarre plot notwithstanding. The title has been thought out through and there are subtle touches within. For instance, during load screen, the player is asked to spot differences between two black and white pics of Russian armies. Sweet! Mezmer executive producer Tom Soderlund sums it up in:

One contributing factor to the success could be the high level of historical accuracy, that is completely missing from the game.

Now that, I like!
