LucasArts Studios has announced that ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ will now be released for the Nintendo Wii and DS. The producers promised the most realistic Lightsaber/sword action to date with characters from the new television series battling one another. Some of the key features of this game include the use of the Wii stick as a lightsaber, very interactive environments (ability to damage walls if lightsabers touch it), one-on-one action with another Wii player, choice of favourite characters and much more. There is also the DS version which is entitled ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance’. In this game, you are thrust into the role of a Jedi Knight who is required to fight battles beyond the movie story line. They also made this game interesting by including variable combination locks in different areas at different times, to help reduce any chance of becoming bored with this game. There is also the WiFi capability which allows you to duel anyone of your friends. The game features similar features as the Wii version, but are more centered towards the Jedi lifestyle. The game is set to hit shelves in summer.
From the screen shots I’ve seen so far, the graphics look really great for a Wii video game and the concepts behind it seem to be interesting. It’s quite encouraging that you can play as your favourite character. With regards to the Wii, it sounds like this game could be hours of fun, mainly because you have that lightsaber in your hand, which really brings the experience of fighting off enemies to real life.
