Stix brings motion-sensing to PC; Wii anyone?

PC gamers finally look set to make use of the latest gaming technology out there – courtesy the motion sensing controllers. GoLive2 has introduced a wireless controller christened Stix, which by the by functions quite like Wii remote. Stix is a wireless, touch-screen controller meant for PC and Internet. It is touted as being compatible with thousands of already available free online games and some compatible retail games are also promised. Effectively, with one of these onboard, mouse and keyboards can be kept aside while gaming. Stix has been announced in two versions; Stix 200 and Stix 400. The difference between the two is that the former works with 2D games, and the latter with both 2D and 3D games. GoLive2 has announced an exclusive online portal to distribute hundreds of free games to play with Stix controller. Sphere would include both home brewed games as well as games that would be developed by the retailers exclusively. That all goes well for the controller, but the fact that this one works quite similar to Nintendo’s Wii remote may not sit well with the gaming giant. As a matter of fact the demo pics portray its swinging motion as quite similar to the Wii’s features. Anyhow the product becomes available this August and we’d all watch keenly Nintendo’s reaction, if any.
