Two months ago, gamesindustry.biz managed an interview Gas Powered Games CEO, Chris Taylor, who hinted at some unidentified titles. Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is one of them that THQ has revealed. In fact, it was highly predicted and has finally met with the publisher’s official confirmation.
The publisher put down the new highly anticipated RTS title for November, 2007 release on PC. The question that is tickling my mind is whether the new title is a ’sequel,’ ‘expansion’ or an ‘add-on,’ because the publisher has defined it simply as ‘the next chapter’ in the Supreme Commander franchise. I bet my farm for it being a standalone expansion. It’s your turn!
According to the Press Release, the story follows the footsteps of the old version offering full compatibility with the original game and enabling all-new strategic options.
Bob Aniello, Senior VP (worldwide marketing), THQ says:
Supreme Commander raised the standard for scope and scale in the RTS genre and is one of the highest rated strategy games of all time. Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is pushing the boundaries yet again promising an exciting new chapter to fans worldwide.
With a new faction and a multitude of innovative multiplayer features, the new game dishes up more than 100 new units providing players an access to advanced strategic options comprised of more maps, fleet of ships, a variety of weapons, refined counter intelligence technologies, and strategic warfare taking place in destructive environment that pushes the novel RTS title to the victory gate.
Start stocking some bucks for scoring the new RTS as it hits the store shelves this November.
