This couldn’t be a worse decision by T2. Be it a portfolio balancing or not, they are losing money and time. Frankly, the prospect of them getting bought out doesn’t seem to falter their decision to hold back on the release. They will lose money in the long run. No one is going to be playing Grand Theft Auto for four more months while there is nothing new in Grand Theft Auto. Other than the fact that Liberty City is a wonder in itself with endless alleys and streets, there is only so much a gamer will play before they stop playing. This is especially true when they don’t have any new content. Same thing was happening during Call of Duty 4 until they patched.

In the move by Microsoft promising the release of the DLC in Autumn, gamers are sure to be upset when this news hits them knowing they won’t get the DLC for another month. Frankly, it doesn’t bother me because I don’t play GTA 4 and don’t want to anymore. I’ve seen it, played it, lived it and had enough of it. The DLC can come out in 2 years but it will only hurt Take-Two in the ongoing buyout that seems will never end. This will only make EA want to keep their attack on T2 up.

I hope T2 doesn’t get bought out, but with this setback in the plans for the release it’s sure going to bring some more hype into the release. Bring more publicity towards the game once again as it gears up for it’s 5 week on top of the charts. With 78% of T2 total publishing revenue for the quarter coming from GTA 4, it really is the only thing making, and keeping T2 alive. But could it also be the one thing that brings them down in the end?
