High Voltage Software has released a host of new screen shots and other information about their new Wii title "The Conduit". Just to get you up to speed with what the game is about, here is a brief description.

In the near future, Washington, D.C. experiences a series of strange events as a virus, called "The Bug", spreads rapidly causing panic, as mass crowds of people get infected. A few months later, the disease destroys the Washington Monument, and on September 11th, a presidential candidate is assassinated by a terrorist cell. A secret organization called "The Trust" realises the city has been invaded by extraterrestrial race called "The Drudge". You are thrust into the role of "John Adams" who is an enigmatic commander of The Trust. You go by the name of "Mr. Ford" and conduct investigations into the sudden attacks. Along the way, Mr. Ford will come up against mass alien attacks, rogue Trust members led by a man calling himself "Promoetheus" and the virus infected humans. In the end, Mr. Ford will realise the gravity of the truth behind the conspiracy.
You can check out more details about the game's graphics, weapons systems, stages and enemies here. The game is set to be released some time in 2009. High Voltage has stated that this game is going to "push Wii's graphics to the limit". You can also check out some previous screens here.
From what I'm seeing here, this is really a top class Wii game. In terms of visuals, I am really impressed with what they have done. This by far is one of the better games for the Wii. However, game play is still on the table until someone gets to actually play it. If they do have a story line which matches itself to the level of detail as the graphics, well, this might be one heck of a game. With regards to the storyline, it does seem incomplete so maybe there will be a sequel to the series as well, to hopefully complete the story. The basic concept may not be totally original, but it is actually very interesting to follow. I personally do like games and movies based on terrorist and alien activities, and look forward to the release of this title.
