The Lord of the Rings Online makes its debut

After years of development process, finally The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar from Turbine Inc. and Midway Games, has been shipped to the retailer stores across North America. As much talked, the game is the first ever MMORPG set in Middle-earth.

The crowd of fans across the globe had been waiting with great anticipation for the chance to initiate their quest in Middle-earth and now, the wait is over. The Lord of the Rings Online delivers a flawless interactive environment packed with the known faces, places and monsters from the most beloved fantasy adventure of all time. The game takes place around Shire to Angmar, where the wicked Witch-king is planning to explore its sin-city.

Though, the game will sport locations and ingame characters from the books, but still it will be based on all-new adventures. The game is released just few hours ago and has received an update named Shores of Evendim.

Steve Allison, chief marketing officer, Midway is also optimistic about their new venture and says that the game carries incredibly rich history and extensive fan base with it that makes it a perfect MMORPG.

T-rated game Lord of the Rings Online will be available at store shelves in two versions; Special (30-days of free play, Making of The Lord of the Rings Online' DVD, the official game soundtrack and an exclusive in-game item) and Standard Edition for $59.99 and $49.99, respectively, while monthly subscription for $14.99.
