All those Nintendo fans who were always complaining that their console is inflexible as it doesn't offer a joystick can now rejoice. Here comes The Shaft, a wired controller that offers ease for those gamers hooked to fast-paced fighting games. The Shaft works with Analog games like Mario Kart 64, and Digital games like Super SF2 Turbo. The Shaft is compactly sized at approximately 6'X11'.

Things could not get better, the manufacturer is offering a fantastic pre-order price. Get one shaft for $39.95 or 2 for 69.95 as against $79.95 for one after the launch. Deliveries of the shaft will be through courier and are scheduled start mid-December.
One of the best features of the Shaft is perhaps the Customizable Turbo Function which allows users to program individual buttons to be Turbo while leaving others to work as normal. That is not all the shaft also offers a full 360 Degree range of motion that works with both digital and analog stick games. There are eight locking points which gives for awesome response in Fighting Games. And hold your breath, the shaft comes with a 10-Year warranty. Now that is what I would call it a dream deal.

Though the name sounds a little below the belt but the VC Fatal Fury game will be much better with this gadget. The current handheld controllers for the Nintendo are just not good enough and quite clumsy and uncomfortable, this has put several active gamers into dormant mode due to frustration and RSI. Now with the Shaft available things are hopefully on the course of improvement.
The shaft is not large, it is compact and I would say of about the right size. Though small and light, the shaft moves around with ease when you play it on your lap or a table and doesn't feel itchy. One of the disadvantages of the shaft is that it doesn't come with a cover, so dust, dirt and God knows what else will get in there and make the controls sluggish.
They could have retained the original big buttons from the controller pad because the control buttons in the shaft are not so responsive as the push buttons in the controllers.

On the looks front the Shaft is definitely an improvement. Available in three different colours the users can choose the colour to suit their persona.
The quality is yet to be tested as it is not in the market yet. Let us hope it gives our gamers less pain in their finger tips.
