Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction that was previously slated for 2007 release has been delayed until early 2008. The game was originally scheduled for release in the 3rd quarter of fiscal 2007-08, but due to undefined reasons, gamers will have to wait a few more months.

The information surfaced as Ubisoft released results for first quarter of fiscal-year 2007-08. The developer reported a sales of $185.2 million, which is 90.5% up from the same period last year.
Splinter Cell: Conviction is the fifth installment in the Splinter Cell series that is under development at Ubisoft's Montreal studio. The game brings in use 'Unreal Engine 2.5'.
In the game, you are a fugitive and the government you once served is hunting you ruthlessly. The key to your survival is to adapt and overcome the inconducive conditions. To survive, you need to build an underground network of allies, who will help you obtain weaponry and some other gadgets to stay a step ahead of your hunters as you struggle for rendering their moves futile.

Splinter Cell: Conviction is a time exclusive for the Xbox360 that will be launched during the same time when Far Cry 2 comes out.
