Activision, has announced a new title in the ever-growing Tony Hawk series. The next episode is titled 'Tony Hawk's Proving Ground,' and will be launched on all the major platforms. Finally, Wii owners wont have to contend themselves with a version adopted from some other platform. This time around, the gamers are bestowed with complete freedom to guide their in-game fate. So get ready to immerse yourself in a holistic gaming experience. Decide about the character, game style, path you wish to take, skating style etc. etc. and shape how your game turns on the proving grounds from Philadelphia and Baltimore to Washington, D.C.

What make(s) this game worth waiting for?
1. Another year, another title. Not quite. This new game, expected to hit the stores this fall, promises to push game customization to levels never seen before. It would feature a unique and powerful 'Video Editor,' which would let the gamers create 'epic skate videos.'
2. Skate lounge, again, fully customizable, will allow gamers to hang out with their friends online. Not only that, you'll be able to switch between single player and online multiplayer without any glitches.
3. Brand new gameplay mechanics such as Skateable terrain altering and building, and Bowl Carving, designed to deliver a thoroughly refreshing gaming experience. There are new and better tricks too. Moves like 'Nail the Grab' and 'Nail the Manual' will enable gamers to pull off some awe-inspiring tricks.
Here's what Joel Jewett, president of Neversoft said at the announcement:
Tony Hawk's Proving Ground drops players into the skateboarding world like never before. his is the largest, deepest and most compelling Tony Hawk game ever. You can skate the best lines, define your own style and produce your own videos. You can even take it further by tricking out your own Skate Lounge, where you can hang out and skate with others online. Proving Ground will throw you so deep into the lifestyle of skateboarding that you won't be able to get out. Hands down, it's the most exciting Tony Hawk title yet.
Neversoft promises not to favor any particular console while launching this title. The game is being developed for all the major gaming consoles. You name it, you got it; Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS, and even PS2 is obliged.
The game, as already mentioned, is scheduled to release later this year. Keep your eyes and ears open and skating gear packed. This one promises a lot!
