Katamari was fun, wasn’t it? A great respite from hackneyed titles and gameplay. Once in a while we all enjoy a bit of colorful extravaganza, without the gore of course. Right on cue it seems is The Munchables from Namco Bandai. Announced for Wii, The Munchables is about cuddly creatures with ferocious appetite. Players don the fuzziness of orange Chompy or pink Munchy and make through several levels of eating enemies; enemies as in fruits, vegetables, even porcupines, and an occasional boss or two. So fill up and you max up your ‘cute’ bar! The aim is to defeat eight Enemy Bosses along with a mega-boss named Don Onion (aha!). The game is out sometime in May. The Munchables also features a two-player mode and a time-based challenge mode called Mirror Mode. With 27 songs and 5 movies included on the disk as bonus items, The Munchables rates high on fun quotient. This trailer surely points to as much.
